Payouts or Money Transfer involves the outgoing payment of funds from one party to another. It can be a single payout, multiple payouts, or even what is referred to as mass payouts.
Electronic funds transfers (EFTs) account for the majority of payouts, but non-electronic means of payment such as check and money order still play a role.

Tried and true payout methods include: ACH/direct deposit, wire transfer, check, e-check, and prepaid cards (physical and virtual).
Next-Gen Payment Solutions
Newer payout methods include: payouts to mobile wallets or digital accounts, push-to-card/original credit transaction (OCT), and real-time payments (RTP).
International Payout Methods
Common international payout methods include: international automated clearing house (IACH), SWIFT wire, mobile wallets and digital accounts, and physical and virtual cards.

IACH enables you to transfer funds to your beneficiary in their country using their local currency.

SWIFT wire enables you to transfer funds to your beneficiary in their country using a non-local currency.
Every payout method comes with its own advantages and disadvantages. E.g. push-to-card/OCT is a popular instant payout method that occurs on the card rails, not the banking rails, therefore these transactions are not subject to banking restrictions like hours of operation - they can occur 24/7, unlike wire and ACH.
However, cardholder financial institutions (FIs) all have a different set of limits criteria for the amount of funds that can be received on a daily and monthly basis. The limits for OCT are far lower than ACH and wire payouts.
